This afternoon I was just passing through the Preet Vihar flyover when I suddenly spotted a Delhi Police PCR van and instantly applied the brakes but all in vein. The screech couldn’t help and I ended up paying fine for Speeding.
So far, speed always thrilled me and I have quite often enjoyed it. I often realised that everything around us is at a speed, rather at a fast speed. So what the heck if I speed? See the sky. The birds are flying at speed. You can trail supersonic planes with its smoke tail. Look beyond. Moon is continuously speeding with a shade up or low per day. Everything in the cosmos, be it planets, stars, galaxies, is moving at a phenomenal speed. Our cosmos is continuously expanding at an unknown speed. Look inside. Blood is flowing at a speed, cells are contracting at a speed and the reflexes are there at the speed of the thought which our scientists are trying to put into our computers (biochips) to make those work at that speed. Per se, our computers have already grown a lot in the speed. I remember using a 128 Kb RAM. And these days our hunger for speed is not satiated even by leased lines. We need speed in our mobile phones, see T9. How can I forget the soaring prices of real estate and consumer goods on the one hand, and food grains, vegetables and fruits on the other hand. Imagine the speed at which these have scaled up. More importantly we wish to multiply our monies at lightening fast speed and we intend to get our next promotion and pay hike even faster.
So what, if I also speed? I am simply trying to keep pace with the things around me. I think speeding should be our fundamental right, through an amendment in the constitution. Some may say that it may not happen. But it can, if we actually understand the way nature is governing the speed. There everything is gaining speed with a relative balance and its happening simultaneously. But the rat race that we are indulged here in is all about gaining speed at someone’s cost and here we are fundamentally inappropriate. And thus if everybody will gain speed simultaneously and will maintain a relative balance there will be no challans. The social system will be freed from the axe of penalties for one and the garlands of rewards for other. I am not endorsing any socialism here but am just talking about growing with universal brotherhood and that too at a good speed. It simply needs our vote for a change.
Are we ready?
